The Ballyhoura Mountain Bike Trails, Ireland's largest trail network, are purpose-built singletrack trails and forest roads that are designed for use by mountain bikes on a waymarked circular route. There are five fantastic routes to choose from!

View Trails MapGreenwood Blue Loop
This is the first of five loops in the Ballyhoura trail system and is called the Greenwood Blue Loop. This trail takes you through the lush hillsides beneath Seefin Mountain and Black Rock, and it serves as both the outward and inward legs for the rest of the trail network.
TRAILS: Calling Huey, Ear to Ear, The Beast, Green Machine, The Snake.
DISTANCE: 7km with 100m climbing

Mountrussell Blue Loop
The Mountrussell Loop is a more technical and physically demanding version of the Greenwood Blue Loop. It follows the same path as far as Waypoint 1, after which the trail becomes more technical, narrower, rockier, and steeper, with more climbing and descending.

DISTANCE: 17km with 200m climbing
TIME: 60 - 140 mins
DIFFICULTY: Moderate to Difficult

Tech Red Route
This red grade route is difficult throughout with numerous severe sections along the route. The trails vary from fast and flowing to tight and technical. Frequently steep and narrow, with variable surfaces including rock, roots, mud, loose stones and gravel that may become slippery when wet. This trail is not for novice mountain bike riders.

Garrane Red Loop
The Garrane Red Loop ventures west from Waypoint 3, featuring long and fast single-track descents as well as demanding climbs on forest roads, tracks, and single-track trails. This route is challenging throughout, with several difficult sections along the way. The trails vary from fast and flowing to tight and technical.

DISTANCE: 35km with 100m climbing
TIME: 90 - 220 mins
DIFFICULTY: Difficult to Severe
WAYMARKING: White Circle with Red Outline
Castlepook Red Route
This red grade route is difficult throughout with numerous severe sections along the route. The trails vary from fast and flowing to tight and technical. Frequently steep and narrow, with variable surfaces including rock, roots, mud, loose stones and gravel that may become slippery when wet. This trail is not for novice mountain bike riders.
TRAILS: All Garrane red route trails plus – Streamhill, Switchbacker, Flying Sauser, Superman, Slip n’ Slide, River Run, Full Circle.
